BMW Motorrad once again achieved excellent results in 2025: for the fourth year in a row, the company delivered more than 200,000 motorcycles to its customers, a total of 202,563 units worldwide. This achievement underlines the attractiveness of our model range and the operational strength of the brand.
Despite a difficult market environment, including a global decline in the over 500 cc segment, volatile conditions, intense price competition, regulatory restrictions and new customs regulations, BMW Motorrad achieved strong sales results. What’s particularly encouraging is that several markets posted their best-ever results, including Italy, Spain, Japan, Australia, Portugal, Canada, Malaysia and the Netherlands. A total of 15,109 motorcycles were sold in December, the third best December in the history of BMW Motorrad and an impressive end to the year.
“In a challenging market environment, we leveraged our strengths and achieved better results than ever in many markets and segments.” In key markets such as Germany, we were even able to gain market share (+4.1 percentage points over 500 cc) and expand our market leadership. We owe this leadership position to our commitment to cutting-edge technology, a coherent strategic approach and, of course, an attractive product offering.
The strength of the product as the key to success.
The decisive factors for the success were the attractive model range and the introduction of important new products: The BMW R 1300 RT, BMW R 1300 R and BMW R 1300 RS immediately sparked enthusiasm among customers. The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure, which was introduced a year earlier, also contributed significantly to sales. The new BMW R 12 G/S with its legendary air/oil-cooled boxer engine already exceeded expectations in its launch year.
Good results in the middle segments and up to 500 cc.
The mid-range performed very positively, reaching 41,166 units sold, an increase compared to the previous year, thanks to the important contribution of the BMW F 800 GS, BMW F 900 R and BMW F 900 GS. The G family models achieved solid results in the sub-500cc segment despite the planned launch of the new BMW F 450 GS, which was already celebrated as a concept bike when it was launched. The urban mobility segment also made a good impression: the C 400 GT, the C 400 X and the fully electric models CE 04 and CE 02 together recorded more than 18,400 sales.
