Following the digital presentation on January 22nd, Bugatti presented the physical world premiere of the FKP Homage at Rétromobile 2026 as part of the inauguration of the Ultimate Supercar Garage. The new space dedicated to the world of supercars within the prestigious Paris event provided the ideal setting for the second creation of the Program Solitaire, a moment that perfectly combined Bugatti’s contemporary vision of bespoke craftsmanship with its rich heritage.
This connection dates back two decades to the Bugatti Veyron, a car that redefined the possibilities of the automotive world and created an entirely new category of performance. Born from the vision of Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch, the Veyron combined unprecedented power with sophistication, setting milestones that still inspire Bugatti today and form the philosophical basis of the FKP Homage.
Bugatti caught the attention of the automotive world and the international media and presented the FKP Homage. Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti, opened the presentation. The presentation was part of a historic year for the brand, based on the launch of the Solitaire program and the 20th Birthday the Bugatti Veyron, a car that revolutionized performance expectations with more than 1000 hp and founded the new Hyper GT segment. At the heart of this legacy was the unwavering vision of Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch, an ambitious man who still leads Bugatti today.
The FKP Homage continues the legacy of Program Solitaire’s first creation, Brouillard, unveiled at Monterey Car Week in August 2025. Limited to just two unique masterpieces per year, Program Solitaire represents Bugatti’s commitment to the art of coachbuilding. It offers enthusiasts the opportunity to create truly bespoke, one-of-a-kind vehicles that reflect their individual vision while paying homage to Bugatti’s storied legacy.
The presentation was led by Bugatti chief designer Frank Heyl, who introduced the FKP Homage to an enthusiastic audience and explained the design philosophy behind this extraordinary unique piece. The FKP Homage is based on the latest evolution of Bugatti’s W16 platform and features a 1,600 hp quad-turbo engine that represents the culmination of two decades of technical refinement. He masterfully combines past and present.
The exterior retains the Veyron’s iconic sloping stance and sloping beltline while refining every surface, enlarging the air intakes to support the upgraded engine and introducing a three-dimensional horseshoe-shaped grille, crafted from solid aluminum and organically integrated into the bodywork. A signature multi-layered finish in Rouge Jubilé, an evolution of the Veyron’s original Absolute Red, provides exceptional visual depth and contrasts with exposed black-colored carbon fiber.
Inside, the FKP Homage represents an almost complete evolution compared to newer W16 models such as the Chiron and Mistral. A bespoke round steering wheel and a center console and tunnel cover made from solid aluminum blocks recall the spirit of the original Veyron, while a bespoke ‘Ettore Grand’ fabric in the color ‘Havana’ showcases the brand’s most advanced craftsmanship. The dashboard is dominated by a 41mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak tourbillon, integrated at the customer’s request and located on a converted engine island, a tribute to Bugatti’s storied technical heritage.
To conclude the presentation, Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles, reflected on his personal connection to the Veyron, having been part of the team that launched it 20 years ago. He recalled how the quality standards defined at the time were established as the benchmark for Bugatti, principles that guide the brand to this day and determine its future.
Being part of the team that launched the Veyron 20 years ago was a pivotal moment in my career. The quality standards we set back then, driven by absolute precision and the tireless pursuit of perfection, are still the basis for everything we do at Bugatti today. Seeing the presentation of the FKP tribute here at Rétromobile in the Ultimate Supercar Garage is a proud moment as it allows us to honor this heritage and offer collectors the opportunity to create cars that are as personal as the stories behind them.
