As the first Kia designed specifically for the United States and assembled in this country, the Telluride radically changed and transformed critics’ and consumers’ opinions of Kia and redirected the brand’s evolution.
Now, with the recent debut of the second-generation Telluride, Kia America takes the opportunity to thank and highlight the members of the Kia Georgia team who have contributed to the Telluride’s tremendous success.
Starting December 31 at 11:59 p.m. EST, Kia will take full control of the New Year’s Eve countdown clock at 1 Times Square, displaying various elements of the new 2027 Kia Telluride on the giant screen directly below where the ball drops.
From Telluride’s contemporary design and sanctuary-style interiors to its intuitive technology and available entertainment amenities, images will appear on the screen as the last minute of 2025 passes.
After 20 seconds, the images become a tribute to the members of the Kia Georgia team responsible for assembling Kia’s most transformative SUV. “The Telluride marked Kia’s entry into the global automaker elite as the rarest flagship, a symbol of innovation and challenge, yet affordable and engaging,” said Russell Wager, vice president of marketing for Kia America.
“We are excited to ring in the new year with the Kia Georgia team members as both the Telluride and the calendar change mark a turning point in Kia’s history. The dedication of the team members at our West Point, Georgia facility has made the Telluride the success it is today and has contributed to growth in demand year after year.”
Equipped with an all-new hybrid powertrain, the 2027 Telluride made its official world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month and is expected to arrive in the United States in the first quarter of 2026.
