Leaders of the Government of Odisha and RBG Labs, IIT Madras mark the launch of the ‘Integrated Road Safety Dashboard’ in Odisha
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has developed an integrated road safety dashboard.
Conceived and designed by RBG Labs at IIT Madras and implemented by National Informatics Center Services Inc (NICSI), the platform integrates data from multiple departments and presents it through real-time analytics and actionable insights
The dashboard has been adopted by the Government of Odisha and is suitable for wider replication, the release said.
“The dashboard is not just a technology platform, it is a governance reform tool. This is e-governance in the truest sense, where technology directly contributes to saving lives,” said Venkatesh Balasubramanian, head of RBG Labs, who led the project development.
Amitabh Thakur, Transport Commissioner and Chairman, State Transport Authority (STA), Government of Odisha, said: “The dashboard provides the analytical backbone and monitoring we need for sustained enforcement and intervention. By using data-driven, human factors-based approaches, we are giving our officials access to modern technology to address road safety, ultimately helping us save lives and make our roads safer for everyone.”
RBG Labs (Rehabilitation Bioengineering Group) at IIT Madras is an interdisciplinary research group focused on solving societal problems through evidence-based innovation, particularly in the areas of transportation safety, human factors, medical devices and lean operations
