The family-friendly five-seater EX60 eliminates range anxiety, offers an innovative user experience and represents a new benchmark in safety. Additionally, it is Volvo Cars’ first entry into the world’s largest electric vehicle segment, allowing the company to significantly increase its target market and electric vehicle share.
“The new all-electric EX60 revolutionizes the game in terms of range, charging and price and represents a new beginning for Volvo Cars and our customers.” confirms Håkan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Cars. “With this vehicle, we have removed all the obstacles that still prevented us from going electric. This fantastic new vehicle also shows what we are capable of at Volvo Cars, with a completely new product architecture that introduces new key technologies: megacasting, cell-to-body and core computing.”
The EX60 achieves a Best-in-class range of up to 640 km on a single charge in all-wheel drive configuration. Not only does it go further than any other electric car from Volvo Cars, it also outperforms its recently launched competitors and sets a new standard in its segment.
The same uncompromising approach is also reflected in the loading speed. A quick stop for a coffee is enough to recharge your batteries and get back on the road. With a 400 kW fast charger, the EX60 can increase the range up to 278 kilometers in just 10 minutes. In the United States, the EX60 will be the first Volvo to feature a native NACS charging port, giving EX60 customers direct access to more than 25,000 DC fast chargers on the Tesla Supercharger network without the need for an adapter.
In other words: The EX60 turns range anxiety into comfort and shows that electric driving is no longer a compromise. Design, technology, hardware and software come together to create a car that optimizes autonomy and is on a par with many petrol cars.
The EX60 is available with three engine variants. The P12 AWD electric version offers a best-in-class range of up to 640 km, while the P10 AWD reaches 513 km. The P6 electric version with rear-wheel drive offers up to 500 km of autonomy. In total, the EX60 is available in seven attractive variants that cover all needs and lifestyles. The EX60 comes with a 10-year battery warranty.
The EX60 is based on SPA3, Volvo Cars’ new electric vehicle architecture, and powered by HuginCore, Volvo Cars’ core system. Sets new standards in terms of scalability, modularity, manufacturing efficiency and costs. Cell-to-body technology, self-developed next-generation electric motors, a new battery cell design and mega-casting contribute to greater energy efficiency and range while reducing weight.
This also helps the EX60 achieve the lowest carbon footprint of any all-electric Volvo car, matching that of the smaller EX30 and making the EX60 a better choice for the environment.
