The best-selling vehicle models in the US in 2025
The list of best-selling vehicle models in the United States in 2025 once again underlines the uniqueness of the American car market compared to Europe and most other parts of the world.
Pickup trucks and SUVs continue to dominate overall sales volume, while traditional passenger vehicles play a much smaller, though still important, role in the U.S. new light vehicle market.
Most popular vehicle models in the USA
At the top of the rankings is the Ford F-Series, which remains by far the best-selling vehicle in the United States. Ford delivered 828,832 F-Series trucks in 2025, an increase of 8.3% compared to the previous year.
The F-Series was the best-selling truck in America for the 49th consecutive year and the best-selling vehicle for 44 years.
The long-term success of the F-Series reflects its broad appeal among retail buyers, commercial fleets, and rural and urban markets. No other individual model comes close to this standard.
In second place, the Chevrolet Silverado confirmed its position as Ford’s closest competitor, but the gap widened. Chevrolet recorded 558,709 Silverado sales, solidifying this full-size truck as a cornerstone of the American vehicle market.
Together, the F-Series and Silverado generate more than 1.3 million annual sales.
The best-selling SUVs in the US in 2025
SUVs follow, led by the Toyota RAV4, the country’s best-selling non-pickup vehicle. Toyota sold 479,288 RAV4s in 2025, a modest year-over-year increase that nonetheless underscores the continued popularity of compact crossovers.
Honda’s Honda CR-V ranked fourth overall with 403,768 sales, remaining one of America’s most reliable family vehicles.
Pickup trucks continue to occupy a majority of the top 10. The Ram pickup took fifth place with 374,059 sales, closely followed by the GMC Sierra with 356,218 units.
GMC remains a major force in the premium truck segment, particularly among buyers seeking luxury trucks with premium features.
